How it ended
What happened next? What did you do, what changed, and where did it leave you?
When I first met him, I wasn't impressed. Honestly, I barely noticed him. The friend who introduced us would have been more my type, if only he'd had a better personality. He was small, but full of energy. He was kind and persevering, and little by little he won me over. I loved him, but I always knew he wasn't the love of my life. Our relationship was a roller coaster: high, low, dizzying, exhausting. It was toxic, and it taught me things I never wanted to learn. With him I found out what betrayal feels like. I saw what toxicity does to two people who keep holding on. And I learnt that I have a big ego, and that sometimes it isn't worth feeding. The strangest part is that I knew from the beginning that I wouldn't end up with him. He didn't match my standards at all. And yet I stayed longer than I should have. But this is where a miracle happened. My health problems had already begun, and I had been told it would be difficult for me to have a child. Then, against every prediction, God blessed me. My son's name means God hears, because he did. I didn't get a happy ending with his father, but I got something far bigger.
